1 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!

I can't believe it has been one year already! Time has gone by so fast! Brycen has made great strides over the last few months. He has started to walk and each day he becomes more comfortable with his steps and walks a little bit further on his own. We haven't done his one year doctor visit and there are some many questions I have about how to get him to eat without his bottle. Oh my word it's alot of work. He always seem hungry all day long. He eats three solid meals and snacks almost every 2 hours and he is still skinny. I guess I shouldn't worry, both Ian and I were skinny as children so it's genetic. We had his birthday party on a Saturday and lots of family came and had a good time. I was expecting Brycen to dive headfirst into the cake because that was all the hype people kept telling me about the first birthday. Brycen had been munching on fruit all day long that cake didn't look good to him. My bother-in-law Levi however decided he would put frosting on his face and hair. It was everywhere and Brycen didn't have a clue what was going on. Poor little guy was so exhausted by the end of the party that he took a nap right afterwards. I wish I could have done the same. We love our little guy so much and can't wait to help and watch him grow up. Enjoy the pictures.  The last picture was his favorite toy he got. He plays with it non-stop.

Update

Sorry it’s been so long for those of you who want updated pictures.  Brycen is growing and is such a joy to be around. He will be 9 months in a few days and will go in for his 9 month checkup; we are expecting nothing but good reports. He can fully pull himself up on things and tries to get anything that he isn’t supposed to have J He doesn’t crawl on all fours, he prefers the army man crawl and rolling around to get where he wants. He loves to smile and has simple joys such as Snicker and Hercules. He likes Benser and Lela but they are still much larger than he is so it’s a little intimidating for him. We are learning Brycen has a very gentle soul, he doesn’t like you to yell, and he doesn’t like rough housing with the dogs. He is very cautious about everything; he isn’t a trouble maker and has a mild temperament which I love because I know he will be an obedient kid. J  Below are pictures of each month, I have one video mixed in there too. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures; he is such a cute kid.

Labor and Delivery

Cutest baby in the world! I can't believe we made that!

On 4/12/2011 at 1 am I woke up becuase I felt like I was having contractions. Since I had some braxton hicks before I wanted to make sure this was the "real thing" so I got out of bed and went into the living room to watch some tv. As time passed the contractions became stronger. This was it, so I started to get myself ready to go to the hospital I took a quick shower and straightened my hair. At 2:30 Ian got up wondering where I was. I didn't want to wake him up since I knew I would be at home going through contractions for a couple of hours I wanted him to have enough sleep. He didn't listen to me and stayed up with me anyways as the contractions grew stronger. At about 4am the contractions were so strong that I could no longer walk through them. I tried to stick it out 30 more minutes because I didn't want to be sent home. At 4:30am we left for the hospital. Everything went smoothly checking into triage, I was 5cm dialated already and got the okay to admit me and take me into a delivery room. I got the epideral as soon as I was situated in my room and could not feel my contractions anymore it was wonderful. :) Ian's grandma and my mom showed up and we spent some time talking while we waited for my labor to progress. Ian's mom showed up just before it was time for me to start pushing. I didn't realize how hard pushing was until the physical act of pushing occured. My doctor gave me a new experience that I will never forget, once the baby's head was out he had me reach down and dlivery my baby the rest of the way. It was gross but an amazing experience. My mom and Ian were great coaches and after an hour of pushing Brycen was born at 2:08pm weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 20 3/4in long. We are happy to report we have a healthy baby boy with 10 fingers and 10 toes.

Brycen's room--- Theme Snowboarding

Hey Everyone! Sorry it's been so long been busy baby shopping. Babies are so expensive! Well we had the baby shower and it was a blast. Was so upset I brought out the camera and then got so distracted that I didn't take a single picture!!!! I wanted to say thank you to everyone that came you really helped make the shower special! Brycen will need everything, thank yoy for all the thoughtful gifts. Ian finished the room and it looks amazing. Yes he painted that picture of a snowboarder. He's talented! The final touch is being worked on this weekend. It's a snowboard we are having painted and Brycen's name put on by a very talented friend of mine. She made me a blanket and the currents to go in the room. Such an awesome girl! Last update... the last 4 weeks are so uncomfortable!!! Everything up until now has been a breeze, but now I am ready to call it quits and get the baby out. It helps going to see the doctor every week but I wish the baby was ready to come soon. Okay that was the vent of me being miserable. Enjoy the pictures!

LOVE!

Today I feel love. Love for everything. I wanted to just express my love for everyone, especially to Ian who is such a great husband he is just the best. As soon as he found out I was pregnant he has been getting stuff done so the nursery will be ready. He picks up the slack when I am tired or can't lift something. When I am crying about nothing he sits there and holds me. I don't know how he does it but he is the perfect man for me and I don't know what I would be without him. I love the friends I have that support me and make everything normal with pregnacy and everything that comes with it. Babies are expensive and people are so sweet showing me how to make being a mom affordable. I can't thank my friends that have helped me find baby resale stores to help us out with the cost of baby items. Those stores are freaking amazing! I also want to thank my Heavenly Father for giving me the opportunity to have this experience and build those relationships stronger. He really knows each one of us and what we need to experience. I now understand being a mom is going to be a trail, but it's going to be a blessing at the same time and I can't wait to start that journey.

In my most recent experience I learned that children are something that brings the family closer together. So many times all you hear are the negative things kids do as they grow up. But those experince are nothing compared to the love they give to you and the love you feel for them and your spouse. Today was a "I get it" day and it has just filled my day with love!!!!

I hope everyone feels loved today!

Update

Sorry I have been very bad about updating this. Thanksgiving has come and gone and now Christmas and a birthday! Well not too much to report. I am getting bigger almost at 6 months. The baby moves alot and loves when I drink water. When I told Ian this he got all excited (Ian was the top swimmer at his Highschool) so naturally the baby will be a swimmer like his dad, Ian couldn't be happier! Oh and I guess I should tell everyone WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!! Ian has choosen the nursery theme to be Snowboarding. He has an old snowboard that he plans to write the baby's name on with vinly lettering and mounting it to the wall above the crib. It will be a little hard to plan the bedding to match but I will make do with it. The two names we are deciding betweeen are Brigden and Brycen (Bryce for short). If you want to give your opinion on our names I would love a poll of the name you like best! I love Brigden and Ian loves Brycen. So it will be a struggle to the due date. :) I have attached our christmas photos. Enjoy the belly shot!!!!
